Join us in reading Dare to Lead, by Brenè Brown this month - then tune in on Zoom for a lively book discussion hosted by our Education Task Force.
Dare to Lead, by Brenè Brown is a New York Times best seller and the book's message is so appropriate for today's climate of uncertainty.
"When we dare to lead, we don’t pretend to have the right answers; we stay curious and ask the right questions. We don’t see power as finite and hoard it; we know that power becomes infinite when we share it with others. We don’t avoid difficult conversations and situations; we lean into vulnerability when it's necessary to do good work."
Discussion panelists include:
- Emma Petrie Barcelona - President, Lakewood City Schools Board of Education
- Allison Urbanek -Housing and Internal Operations Director - LakewoodAlive
- Jeanette Berger - Director, University of Akron, Lakewood
Presented by the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce Education Task Force.
Digital and hard copies of "Dare to Lead" by Brenè Brown are available through the Lakewood Public Library.
Free to attend but registration required. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
